Police charge man for threats

Police have charged a Halifax man in relation to making threatening comments online.

On May 12 police received a report of man who had posted comments threatening to harm people on a social media site. On May 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m. investigators from the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, assisted by members of West Patrol Division and the Emergency Response Team, arrested the man and conducted a search of a residence on Knightsridge Drive in Halifax. Police seized numerous knives.

Ryan Kenneth Crouse, 41, of Halifax, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
  • Possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace
  • Possession of an imitation firearm during the commission of an offence
