Update to homicide investigation
Police are investigating a homicide that occurred outside a residence in Dartmouth last night.
On Monday, March 31 at approximately 9:00 p.m., police responded to a report of gunshots on Ancona Place in Dartmouth.
Officers arrived on scene and located a man who had been shot outside of a residence. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy on the victim and confirmed the manner of death to be a homicide. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Cortrell Thomas.
Police do not believe the shooting was random.
Investigators are searching for two suspects who were seen leaving Ancona Place through PO2 Craig Blake Memorial Park. Anyone who has video footage from the area, including Capistrano Drive, Appian Way and Casavechia Court, is asked to contact police if they haven’t already spoken to an officer.
