Saturday, July 16th is North Preston Day!
This weekend one of Canada’s oldest black communities celebrates their annual North Preston Day with a parade, fireworks and a king and queen pageant.
Schedule of Events:
- 9am – Free Breakfast provided by the IODE at the North Preston Community Centre
- 10am – Deputy Chief Beals will lead the Annual North Preston Day Parade along with Crew from Station 22, Tanker 22 and Rescue 22
- All are welcome to attend and participate in the parade
- 12pm – BBQ and fun activities for the children
- 4pm – King and Queen Pageant (babies aged 0-3 years and children 4-6 years)
- 6:30pm – Live band
- 9:30pm – Fireworks
This is a free event (breakfast, BBQ, kids activities include multiple bouncy castles and entertainment).
The celebration doesn’t stop there! On Sunday, July 16th is Senior day with a special outdoor church service at 3 pm.
