Missing person update
Police have located a deceased person in a remote rural area off Birch Point Road in South Cove, nearby a parked vehicle confirmed to belong to missing person Jackie Davies, and the one he was reported to be driving when last seen leaving Mary Street in Glace Bay on December 11th.
The vehicle was reported seen to Nova Scotia RCMP officers this morning; ground search and rescue and a helicopter were called to assist and the deceased person was located at approximately 3:30 PM. There is nothing to indicate foul play is a factor in this death; the deceased has been referred to the Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.
Cape Breton Regional Police thank the Nova Scotia RCMP for their assistance, as well as members of the public for sharing information throughout the duration of our efforts to locate Mr. Davies.
