Lunenburg District RCMP investigating multi-vehicle collision
On December 16, just before 10 a.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision on Hwy. 103.
Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers learned that a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Honda Civic, travelling eastbound, slowed within a traffic control zone and were struck from behind by a Dodge Ram. The collision occurred near Exit 6, Highway 103, Hubbards.
The four occupants of the Honda Civic, the 29-year-old male driver, 29-year-old female passenger, and two children, all from Hebbs Cross, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS. One 20-year-old male passenger, also from Hebbs Cross, was transported to hospital by Lifeflight.
The three occupants of the Dodge Ram, the 34-year-old male driver, 32-year-old female passenger, and one child, all from Hebbs Cross, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.
The driver and lone occupant of the Santa Fe, a 70-year-old male from Parkdale, was not physically injured.
Highway 103 was closed for a short period and has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
