DID YOU KNOW

This is the what the Alderney/Halifax Ferry looked like in the early 1900s.

The large space in the centre of the boat was designed to carry wagons, carriages and cars.

Today the ferry looks different but has the same goal – to carry folks to either side of the harbour!

From Monday, March 13 until Saturday, March 18, the Alderney/Halifax ferry service will be FREE between 11 am and 2 pm to provide folks the opportunity for a March Break adventure!

Thank you to Downtown Halifax for teaming up on this initiative and Halifax Transit for making it possible

.

Another thank you to our lovely friends at Dartmouth Heritage Museum – Evergreen House & Quaker House for the photo and history.
