Field Gun Firing by Cadets at 12 Wing Shearwater
Cadets from the Regional Cadet Support Unit (Atlantic) will be firing Naval Field Guns with blank cartridges on the lower base of 12 Wing Shearwater on the 6, 17, & 18 of June 2023. This is in preparation for their performance in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. The blank cartridges used do not shoot projectiles but do create a muzzle flash and an explosive sound, similar to the Citadel’s noon gun.
There is no risk to the surrounding community however persons residing in the area will hear the guns firing. The noise may disturb young children and/or pets.
