**** Municipal Release
Traffic Delay – Dutch Village Road
Location: Dutch Village Road, between Bayers Road and Supreme Court
Date: Tuesday, April 22 to mid-December 2025
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, with weekend work as required
Work details: This work is to improve the safety and comfort of pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and drivers.
Sidewalk and bikeway upgrades: New sidewalks and bike lanes will be installed on both sides of Dutch Village Road within the project area.
Transit infrastructure upgrades: New concrete pads will be added to improve accessibility at bus stops.
Streetscaping enhancements: Trees, benches, garbage receptacles, and interpretive signage will be added to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Parking and traffic calming: Existing parking spaces will be replaced with on-street parallel parking and lane widths will be reduced to help calm traffic and improve safety.
Traffic impacts: Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout the project; however, residents and commuters should expect the following traffic impacts:
Lane reductions and stop-and-go traffic within the project area
Temporary closures on side-streets to install new underground infrastructure
The sidewalk along Dutch Village Road will remain open for pedestrian use
Transit Impacts: This work will impact Halifax Transit routes 28 and 137. Throughout phases of this project, different bus stops along Dutch Village Road will be impacted and routes may be temporarily detoured.

Traffic Delay – Victoria Road
Location: 74 Victoria Road
Date: Monday, April 21
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work includes road repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.
