Police Investigate Robbery
Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred last evening in Dartmouth.
At approximately 11:27 p.m. on March 21, officers responded to a report of a robbery at Needs Convenience Store located at 100 Highfield Park Drive. Two men entered the store and directed the lone customer to lie on the floor and then they approached the counter and directed the employee behind the counter to fill a garbage bag with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money. One male produced a firearm and the other male produced a knife. Neither the customer nor the employee were injured.
One suspect is described as a male, heavy set, wearing gloves, a balaclava over his head and a dark jacket. This suspect brandished the firearm.
Second suspect is described as a male, skinning build, wearing gloves, a balaclava over his head, white or light grey colored pants. This suspect brandished the knife.
Both suspects fled the store on foot and ran in a westerly direction.
The police service dog was deployed – suspects were not located but evidence related to the robbery was recovered.

Police Investigate Suspicious Fire

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred early this morning in Halifax.
At 1:14 a.m. on March 22, Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency along with Halifax Regional Police responded to reports of a suspicious fire at 32 Quartz Drive in Halifax. The backside of the residence was engulfed in flames. The lone occupant of the residence had safely exited the residence.
Police evacuated neighboring residences as firefighters extinguished the flames.
Scene being held by police until processed by fire and police investigators in the morning.
