Police investigate stabbing in Dartmouth 

On March 28 at approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to the 200-250 block of Wyse Road in Dartmouth for reports of an assault.

A man was seen striking a woman, knocking her to the ground. The man left the area on foot.

While officers were on scene, a second man approached them advising that he was stabbed when he confronted the man who assaulted the woman.

Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was not known to either victim.

At approximately 4:10 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect. A 35-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date to face charges of:

  • aggravated assault
  • assault causing bodily harm
  • possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace

Police investigate robbery in Halifax 

On March 28 at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that occurred in the 2300-2400 block of Maitland Street in Halifax.

A man was sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by an unknown woman who began yelling at him. At the same time, an unknown man took tools from the back of his vehicle. The victim confronted the man who then threatened to stab him. The victim was able to retrieve his tools and leave the scene without being physically harmed.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., officers located one of the suspects nearby and arrested him without incident.

Jeremy Allan Durno, 45, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • robbery
  • carrying a concealed weapon
  • possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
  • failure to comply with probation order
