Police seeking information after shots fired in East Preston

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired and an attempted home invasion in East Preston.

At approximately 4 a.m. this morning, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment and Halifax Regional Police responded to a break and enter in progress at a home on Upper Partridge River Rd. near Jack Ln.

Officers learned that a man was inside the home when he heard more than one assailant attempt to break in. He also heard what he thought were firecrackers.

No physical injuries were sustained.

At the scene, investigators found evidence consistent with that of a shooting.

The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the incident was random.
