In photos – HRFE HAZMAT training continues to nued as members took to a realistic scenario at Air Liquide in Burnside
Teams set up specific tasks as they moved into the mock scenario.
Command communicated with staff as to the cause and details of the scene while decon set up in a safe location.
A drone was sent inside to survey the area, sending valuable information to the crew outside during a briefing.
A team then entered the building, finding a victim unconscious with a chemical cylinder near by.
They confirmed with the drone info and secured the cylinder, leaving for decon and air.
A second team entered to secure the victim, leaving for full decon even for the victim, all with the drone monitoring in real time.
Realistic scenarios put the HRFE in situations as close to the real thing. This training refreshes firefighters so when the time comes to do it the job gets done.
