Police Investigate Weapons Call (Shooting) – Dartmouth
At 10:09 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of male en route to the QE2 Hospital, after having been shot in the area of Lahey Road, Dartmouth. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a shooting had taken place.
Multiple officers are currently on scene, including K-9, and Forensic Identification members. We ask that people avoid the area.
The QE2 Hospital has been placed in locked down and officers are on scene.
Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.
Update: Halifax Regional Police confirm that investigators have cleared the scene of the shooting on Lahey Road in Dartmouth. The QE2 Hospital is no longer in a state of emergency lock down, and the 26-year-old male victim is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect information is available at this time.
