A period of hot, dry weather means we’re at high risk for wildfires. We’re putting additional restrictions in place for campfires at provincial campgrounds.
Effective tonight (August 14) at midnight, campfires at provincial campgrounds will only be permitted between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. until further notice. Campfires must be fully extinguished by 8:00 a.m. and will not be permitted during the day.
Signs will be posted at provincial campgrounds to advise campers of these new restrictions.
Lands and Forestry will continue to monitor the situation. Should conditions continue to worsen, further restrictions may be required.
