Police issue 121 tickets for motor vehicle related offences

Halifax Regional Police Traffic Unit is focusing on distracted driving throughout the month of February, and this week officers issued 121 tickets in relation to motor vehicle related offences.

Monday to Thursday, members of the HRP Traffic Unit issued 121 summary offence tickets: 25 for using a cell phone while driving, 22 for speeding (including one for stunting), 28 for no insurance, two for failing to yield to a school bus and 44 for other offences including, obstructed windshields, faulty equipment, invalid inspections and driving without a license.

We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Police remind motorists of the importance to always avoid distractions while driving. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.
