Annapolis District RCMP investigating fatal collision

Annapolis District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Hwy. 101 in Lake La Rose.

On September 6, 2022, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Annapolis District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a head-on collision on Hwy. 101 in Lake La Rose. RCMP officers learned that a pickup truck and a cube truck had been travelling in opposite directions on Hwy. 101 when they collided. A transport truck also became involved after the initial impact between the cube truck and pickup truck.

The driver, and sole occupant, of the cube truck, a 55-year-old Aylesford man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, and sole occupant, of the pickup truck, a 24-year-old River Bourgeois man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital via Lifeflight.

The driver, and sole occupant, of the transport truck was uninjured.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing. Southwest RCMP Traffic Services is assisting with the investigation.

Hwy. 101 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
