A tropical air mass will likely produce record-setting warmth for some regions in Eastern Canada this week. Some localities may reach up to 10 degrees above average over the next few days.

Meanwhile, seasonal temperatures and precipitation returned to Western Canada, after a tame start to the fall. A Colorado low brought record amounts of snow in southern Alberta beginning Friday and made its way through the Prairies during the weekend.

In Alberta, the Calgary International Airport reported a one-day total of 19 cm setting a new record for this day. Calgary received 23 cm of snow from Friday night to Sunday morning.

Winter conditions also hit Saskatchewan on the 22nd and 23rd, with heavy snow and strong winds creating difficult travel conditions along the Trans Canada Highway in Saskatchewan.

Snowfall and winter storm warnings are still in place for regions in eastern Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
