Police issue 36 tickets for speeding and other vehicle-related offences

Yesterday, the Halifax Regional Police Traffic Unit issued 36 tickets for motor vehicle-related offences.

Members issued 36 summary offence tickets: 20 for speeding, 8 for driving without insurance and 8 for other offences including using a cellphone while driving and unregistered vehicles.

The monthly theme for April is speeding and aggressive driving. In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues, officers will focus on these areas when conducting enforcement.

Officers also spent time in the area of Oxford Street and Jubilee Road in Halifax educating the public of the new signage in the intersection prohibiting vehicles from turning right on a red light. For more information on this change visit: https://www.halifax.ca/home/news/change-traffic-operations-intersection-jubilee-road-oxford-street

We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.
