RCMP investigating after fatal motor vehicle crash
East Hants District RCMP is investigating after a fatal motor vehicle crash on Mill Village Rd. in Shubenacadie.
At approximately 7:25 p.m. yesterday, police, EHS and the Shubenacadie Fire & Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision on Mill Village Rd. in Shubenacadie. Police learned that a farm tractor moved to the side of the road after being passed by a vehicle. The farm tractor then came to rest in the ditch.
The driver of the farm tractor, a 40-year-old man of North Salem, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.
Mill Village Rd. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
