NS SPCA Adoptable Highlight – Glenda

This sweet 12-year-old tuxedo cutie is looking for her new furever home. Now that she’s taking her hyperthyroid medicine twice a day (and will need to continue the rest of her life), she’s feeling great, eating well and has great litter box manners, so she’s ready to stop hanging out with her foster family and meet her lucky adoptive family. Due to Glenda being Hyperthyroid and needing lifelong medication to regulate this she falls under our Palliative Care program. This means that any check-ups and medications are provided by the Dartmouth SPCA.

What Glenda’s foster mom would like you to know about this little lady:

“Glenda is a lovely girl, not a huge snuggle bug, but loves to be near her people and will follow you around the house.
She LOVES attention and being brushed, until she is done with it, then she’ll nip your hand to let you know she’s bored.
Glenda sleeps a lot, curled up in a little furball and has the cutest snore. Glenda LOVES treats, she currently gets hairball and dental treats every day.

She does eat dry food, not a fan of pill pockets, so wet food seems to work the best to get her to eat her medicine twice a day.

Sometimes you will catch her trying to search the counter or sink for yummy things to lick, so we are good at washing our dishes or putting them in the dishwasher now.

An interesting fact we discovered, Glenda prefers to not have her food dishes and water dish near each other. One of her little quirky qualities! Whoever adopts this sweet girl will have a great companion to hang out with, she’s somewhat ‘helpful’ as a work assistant if you work from home, and she’ll chat with you regularly.”

If you are interested in meeting Glenda, please fill out the application through the link below and shelter staff will be in touch:
