Record high temperatures in northern Canada

As of November 7th, daily temperatures in northern Canada have been systematically above normal for the past 45 days (since September 23).

The map below shows that the last 40-day mean of above-normal temperature reaches up to +9 °C in northern Canada, which is high for such a long period.

In October, temperatures were so high in Nunavut that the monthly mean was the highest ever recorded since 1948. Since September 23, there have been 28 days with temperatures running 15 °C or higher than normal.

This warm spell is forecast to last at least a few more days, which will make it a 50+ day stretch with above-normal temperatures.
