Police investigate bank robbery

Investigators with the Halifax Regional Police Patrol Division along with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Halifax today.

Just after 12:30 p.m., a man entered the CIBC Bank located at 6429 Quinpool Road in Halifax. The man was seen acting suspiciously by staff and moments later displayed what appeared to be a firearm on his person. Threats of violence were made and a demand for cash. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled the bank. There were no injuries to staff.

Patrol officers supported by detectives conducted an extensive search and preliminary investigation, but the suspect has not been located at this time.

​ The suspect is described as a White male, average height, medium build, black coat, mask on showing only the eyes, track pants, the coat had a Nike “swoosh” under the word Nike to the left chest area.
