Potential exposures to COVID-19 at locations in Central Zone and various flights
Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposures to COVID-19 at various locations in Central Zone and several flights. In addition to media releases, all potential exposure notifications are listed here:​ http://www.nshealth.ca/covid-exposures.
Anyone who worked at or visited the following locations on the specified dates and times should visit covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/ to book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms. You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access, or if you have other symptoms that concern you.
Low risk exposures
For the following locations, if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate while you wait for your test result. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.
  • Bicycle Thief Restaurant – Outside dining area (1475 Lower Water Street, Halifax) on August 10 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 24.
  • J. Farwell Sailing. Co. – Booth (1609 Lower Water Street, Halifax) on August 11 between 1:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 25.
  • Stillwell Beer Garden (5688 Spring Garden Rd, Halifax) on August 11 between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 25.
  • Halifax Shopping Centre – H&M (7001 Mumford Road, Halifax) on August 12 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 26.
  • Halifax Shopping Centre – Food Court (7001 Mumford Road, Halifax) on August 12 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 26.
  • Museum of Natural History (1747 Summer Street, Halifax) on August 12 between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 26.
  • Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (1675 Lower Water Street, Halifax) on August 12 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 26.
  • Discovery Centre (1215 Lower Water Street, Halifax) on August 12 between 2:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 26.
  • Trapped Escape Room (1313 Barrington Street, Halifax) on August 13 between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 27.
  • Georges Island Ferry (1751 Lower Water Street) on August 14 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 28.
  • Halifax Transit Ferry which runs from Halifax to Alderney Gate on August 15 between 11:26 a.m. and 11:46 a.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • Halifax Transit Ferry which runs from Alderney Gate to Halifax on August 15 between 6:11 p.m. and 6:31 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • Superstore (1075 Barrington Street, Halifax) on August 16 between 4:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 30.
  • Shoppers Drug Mart (5595 Fenwick Street, Halifax) on August 16 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 30.
  • McDonalds (6342 Quinpool Road, Halifax) on August 16 between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 30.
  • Superstore (6139 Quinpool Road, Halifax) on August 17 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 31.
  • Julep Kitchen & Cocktails – Outdoor dining area (1684 Barrington Street, Halifax) on August 17 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 31.
Moderate risk exposures
Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present at the following location on the named date and time for at least 15 minutes are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for a moderate-risk exposure, based on your vaccination status. COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.
  • Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane (5657 Spring Garden Road, Halifax) on August 11 between 6:10 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 25.
  • Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane (5657 Spring Garden Road, Halifax) on August 14 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 28.
  • 902 Restaurant & Catering (1579 Dresden Row, Halifax) on August 14 between 5:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 28.
  • Adda Restaurant (5640 Spring Garden Rd, Halifax) on August 15 between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • McNab’s Island Ferry Nature Tours (ferry from Fisherman’s Cove Dartmouth to McNab’s Island) on August 15 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • McNab’s Island Ferry Nature Tours (ferry from McNab’s Island to Fisherman’s Cove Dartmouth) on August 15 between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane – Theatre Room 8 (5657 Spring Garden Road, Halifax) on August 16 between 6:55 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 30.
Moderate risk exposures – Transit
Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, any passengers who were on the following transit routes for at least 15 minutes on the named dates and times are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for a moderate-risk exposure, based on your vaccination status. COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.
  • Halifax Transit Route #009A which runs from Greystone to Downtown Halifax via Spring Garden on August 15 between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • Halifax Transit Route #009A which runs from Downtown Halifax via Spring Garden to Greystone on August 15 between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • Halifax Transit Route #060 (Eastern Passage – Heritage Hills) which runs from Oceanview Manor to Alderney Gate on August 15 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29.
  • Halifax Transit Route #090 (Larry Uteck) which runs from Water Street Terminal to Larry Uteck and Bedford Highway on August 18 between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 1.
  • Halifax Transit Route #090 (Larry Uteck) which runs from Larry Uteck and Bedford Highway to Water Street Terminal on August 18 between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 1.
  • Halifax Transit Route #007 (Robie) which runs from Barrington and Duke to North Ridge on August 18 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 1.
High risk exposures
Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present at the following location on the named date and time for at least 15 minutes are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for a high risk exposure, based on your vaccination status. COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.
*CLARIFICATION* The Crow’s Nest (40 Water Street, Digby) on August 15 between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 29. *Only includes those who were in the dining area during this time.
Anyone who was on the following flights in the specified rows and seats are required to follow the isolation and testing instructions in this table as a high risk contact.
  • Air Canada 668 travelling on August 8 from Montreal (8:37 p.m.) to Halifax (11:10 p.m.). Passengers in rows 16 to 21 seats A, B, C and D. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 22.
  • Swoop 198 travelling on August 16 from Hamilton (3:40 p.m.) to Halifax (6:42 p.m.). Passengers in rows 9 to 5 seats C, D, E and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 30.
  • Air Canada 660 travelling on August 17 from Montreal (8:13 a.m.) to Halifax (10:42 a.m.). Passengers in rows 21 to 27 seats C, D, E and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 31.
  • Air Canada 618 travelling on August 18 from Toronto (10:40 p.m.) to Halifax (1:46 a.m. on August 19). Passengers in rows 12 to 16 seats A, B, C and D. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 2.

Please note:
Please get tested at a primary assessment centre or public health mobile unit; do not go to a pop-up rapid testing location.
Nova Scotians also have the option to access their results online at c19results.nshealth.ca/. To be eligible to receive results online, by email or by auto call, you need to bring a provincial health card or student ID with you to your testing appointment. It can take up to 72 hours to receive or access test results. It is not unusual for two or more family members to be tested at the same time and receive results at different times.
