Police seek public assistance in bank robbery investigation

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred in Halifax earlier this year.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on February 11, police responded to a robbery at the Scotiabank located at 6005 Coburg Road.​ A man with a handgun entered the bank, demanded money and then fled on foot with a quantity of cash.​ The suspect was last seen running south on Robie Street.​

The suspect is described as white man with a medium build, approximately 5’6” to 5’8”.​ At the time he was wearing a blue winter jacket with the hood up, black pants and a black mask over his face.​

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.​ Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.​
