Weekly Traffic Advisories (Dec 4th)

Note:  Each week the local listings are expanded and updated.  During the week new and updated tasks are added.  Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.



HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove

Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre, will be reduced to one lane until March 2021.

Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer 2021.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall 2021.

Bayers Road from Highway 102 Ramps to Micmac Street – Road Construction

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the following traffic interruptions will be in place on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12:

  • Friday, Dec. 11: Road construction will take place on Bayers Road, from Romans Avenue to Micmac Street.​ Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

  • Saturday, Dec. 12: Road construction will take place from the Highway 102 Ramps to Romans Avenue. Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.​ The traffic signals at Romans Avenue will be shut down during this work.​ Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site.​

  • Saturday, Dec. 12: Romans Avenue, from Bayers Road to Vaughan Avenue, and from Bayers Road to Federal Avenue, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A marked detour will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

In the event of inclement weather or delays, this work may continue Sunday, Dec. 13 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Motorists should expect long delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Chebucto Road – Traffic Disruption

Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorist that there will be a traffic disruption on Chebucto Road near Roosevelt Drive this evening.

Crews will be on site​ from 7 to 9 p.m.​ to facilitate the installation of communications cables. Lane drops will be in place and traffic control personnel will be on-site while work is underway.​

Windmill Road – Traffic Delay

Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays near 391 Windmill Road on Thursday, Dec. 10.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Pleasant Street – Traffic Delay

Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place near 750 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth on Thursday, Dec. 10.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Forest Hills Parkway – Road Construction

Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place from Tuesday, Dec. 8 to Friday, Dec. 11 at the intersections of Forest Hills Parkway at:

  • Flying Cloud Drive and Chameau Crescent
  • Circassion and Merrimac drives
  • Canadian Tire driveway

Crews will be on site​ from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ each day. Stop-and-go traffic and lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be on-site.

Bayers Road and Romans Avenue – Road Closures and Construction​

Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place at the intersection of Bayers Road and Romans Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 6.​ Road closures will be in place on Romans Avenue, from Bayers Road to Vaughan Avenue, and from Bayers Road to Federal Avenue, during this work.

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site.

Forest Hills Parkway at Flying Cloud Drive and Chameau Crescent​ – Road Construction

Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place at the intersection of Forest Hills Parkway at Flying Cloud Drive and Chameau Crescent on Monday, Dec. 7.

Crews will be on site​ from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Mumford Road – Road Construction

Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Mumford Road, between Olivet Street and Romans Avenue, from Monday, Dec. 7 until Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Highway 2, Fall River – Utility Work

Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 (Halifax, NS) –

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Nova Scotia Power will be completing utility work in the area of 3170 Highway 2 in Fall River on Monday, Dec. 7.​ ​

Crews will be onsite from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times.

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to provide at least two metres of physical distancing.
