Traffic Unit charges 37 drivers for cell phone and speeding violations

Members of the HRP Traffic Unit charged 37 drivers for cell phone and speeding violations yesterday in Dartmouth.

Officers stationed at the intersection of Portland Street and Baker Drive charged 21 drivers for using their cell phones while driving.

Officers stationed in the area of Burnside Drive and Highway 111 charged 16 drivers for speeding.

Speeding and driver distraction are two of the leading causes of collisions in Canada. Halifax Regional Police urges drivers to slow down and focus on driving safely.
