Peninsular Halifax – Water System Upgrades – Macdonald Bridge Off-Ramp Area – Halifax

(Thursday, November 12, 2020)

Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water will be undertaking water system upgrades Saturday, November 14th near the Macdonald Bridge off-ramp in Halifax.

This work will take place Saturday from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. There will be a lane closure in place where the off-ramp of the Macdonald Bridge passes under the bridge on the Halifax side. Stop & go traffic will be in place. The bike lane will remain open with traffic control in place. See the attached work zone map. There will be no loss of water service during this work.

As a result of this work, some residents may experience reduced water pressure and/or temporarily discoloured water. Residents can check the on-line interactive map at http://halifaxwater.ca/notice/peninsular-halifax-water-system-maintenance-0 to see if they’re in the low pressure or temporarily discoloured areas. To learn more about discoloured water, visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
