RCMP arrest youth for sexual assault, reach out to additional victims
Halifax District RCMP is investigating a complaint of sexual assault and are reaching out to the public in the event there are additional victims.
On March 19, shortly after 6 p.m., a woman was near a pharmacy on Cobequid Rd. and walked past a young male who appeared to be intoxicated. The male asked the woman if she would have sex with him and he then tried to hug her. The female pushed the suspect away from her and left the area. The woman then contacted the RCMP to report the incident.
Additional calls were received about a young male with the same description. The calls indicated the male exposed himself to a female on a transit bus, and that he was also checking car doors on Hillside Ave., which is near the incident on Cobequid Rd. The 16-year-old male was located and arrested by Lower Sackville RCMP on March 19.
The RCMP is reaching out to the woman or women that this male exposed himself to on the transit bus. The incident is believed to have occurred on March 19, before 6 p.m.
The suspect is described as white, 5-foot-6 with a slim build, and was wearing a blue hoodie, dark pants, and was carrying a backpack.
Anyone who feels they are a victim or is able to provide police with information about this person is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020.
