The Halifax Regional Municipality continues to monitor and respond to the rapidly evolving effects of COVID-19.

The municipality is committed to taking important steps in reducing the spread of COVID-19.

There are no reductions in public safety service levels. All essential services of the municipality – including 311, fire and police – are operational and adhering to the most updated guidance and precautions from health officials.

An important reminder to residents: Please avoid contact with all high-touch surfaces, such as playgrounds, doorknobs, public stair railings, etc.

The following is an update on Halifax Transit services:

  • As of Monday, March 23, targeting a 30 per cent reduction in bus service on weekdays.
  • Continuing regular weekday schedules on some routes, while other routes will operate on their Saturday schedules during weekdays. Three routes will have no service. Weekend service will not be impacted. Details regarding route changes can be found below and on Halifax.ca/transit
  • Continuing to monitor and adapt in this rapidly evolving situation. For the most up-to-date information, follow @hfxtransit on Twitter for any service disruptions
  • Access-a-Bus Passengers are requested to limit trip requests to essential trips only including physician appointments, grocery trips, medical services & dialysis, and prescription retrieval.
  • Visit halifax.ca/coronavirus for all other Halifax Transit service adjustments to date.

Details on Monday Bus Route Changes:

The following routes will continue to run on regular weekday schedules:
5, 11, 64, 32, 78, 79, 82, 83, 85, 86, 123, 135, 136, 137, 138, 159, 182, 183, 185, 186, 194, 196, 330, 370, 401, 415, 433

The following routes will be operating on their Saturday schedules on weekdays:
1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 21, 22, 25, 28, 29, 30, 39, 51, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 65, 66, 68, 72, 84, 87, 88, 90, 91. 320.


The following routes will have no service:
41, 63, 93.
