Police investigating attempted robbery

​Halifax Regional Police is investigating an attempted robbery that occurred  in Halifax.

At approximately 8:37 p.m., on April 12th,  officers responded to reports of an altercation occurring at the Farm Assist business at 2326 Gottingen Street in Halifax involving several parties including one who was observed with a knife.

Police believe at this preliminary stage in the investigation that one individual entered the business, producing a knife in an attempt to rob the business at which point he was subdued by multiple persons already inside the business.​Fortunately, there were no injuries.

An adult male is in police custody and the investigation is continuing.

Traffic on Gottingen Street was diverted briefly during the initial response to this incident but is flowing normally again.
