????No, this is NOT an dinosaur from the Jurassic Park movies! ???? This little dude is Vega, and is a Tegu, which is a species of lizard.
To be specific, Vega is an Argentinian black and white Tegu.
The diet for this prehistoric looking lizard is a vast variety of vegetables, fruits, and protein sources.
They could literally eat you out of house and home with their dietary needs or you could become a world renowned chef after creating their nutritionally infused daily meals.
All jokes aside this is a variety of monitor that requires someone with a vast knowledge of their specific needs.
Vega, although not thrilled to be handled much (which is typical for their species), will tolerate it for short periods of times, may tolerate it longer if you provide one of their preferred snacks.
The chosen adopter will need to be able to provide the appropriate housing for this gentle giant, and provide us with your experience with these types of lizards.
Home visit may be required for final approval to adopt.
