Kings District RCMP arrest two people and seize guns following complaint to police
On the afternoon of May 18, Kings District RCMP were called to an address on Black Rock Road in Waterville, to investigate a complaint of illegal possession of firearms. When police arrived on scene, they saw a man run into the woods and recognized him as the property owner. Kings District RCMP members contained the area in an attempt to locate the man, and requested an RCMP dog and handler provide assistance. RCMP officers seized one firearm from an occupant of the home, and arrested the 31-year-old woman from Whites Corner for Unsafe Storage of Firearms and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on September 1.
RCMP officers and the Police Dog located a second firearm and ammunition a short distance from the home in a wooded area. At 3 p.m. on May 19, the male who had run from police the day before was located and arrested by the RCMP. The 34-year-old man from Waterville, was released on conditions and is facing charges of Unsafe Storage of Firearms and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. He is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on September 1.
