Heat Warning in effect

Temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius, humidex 38, combined with overnight lows near 16 degrees Celsius are expected for the next 3 days.

An extended period of very warm to hot weather is expected.

Time span: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, except cooler along parts of the coast.

Minimum nighttime temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Remarks: Very high temperatures and humidity are expected for most of mainland Nova Scotia for the next several days.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
