Police investigate Break and Enter.

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a Break and Enter that occurred last evening in Halifax.

At 9:09 p.m. on October 7th, 2020, officers responded to Break and Enter at Brothers Meats located at 2665 Agricola Street, Halifax. Witnesses observed a female approach Brothers Meats and throw a rock through the front window of the store and reach threw the broken glass and remove the cash register from the counter. Once the cash register was removed from the store the female throws the cash register to the ground and smashes it open. There were no bills inside the cash register only coins – several coins were left on the ground at the scene.

The female subject fled on foot north on Agricola Street with an undisclosed amount of the stolen coins. ​

The female suspect was described as a white female, age unknown, 5’6”, athletic build, long dark hair. She was wearing a black face covering, dark gloves, black jacket, black pants, and white sneakers.

Multiple police units attended the scene and actively looked for the suspect. A K-9 officer attended the scene with the police service dog, but there was too much pedestrian traffic in the area to deploy the service dog and locate a track of the suspect.

The investigation will be assigned to the Integrated General Investigative Section. ​

Police Investigate Robbery​

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 12:59 a.m. on October 8th, ​ 2020, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Needs Convenience Store located at 6130 Chebucto Road, Halifax. A lone male suspect entered the Convenience Store produced a knife and went behind the counter and demanded cigarettes and cash from the lone male employee. The male employee opened the cash registry and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect opened the cigarette cabinet and took an undisclosed amount of cigarette packages. The suspect removed an orange/green plastic bag from underneath his clothing and put the money and cigarettes inside the bag. ​ The male employee was not injured. The suspect fled the Convenience Store and went right on Chebucto Road, southbound on Windsor Street and right onto Duncan Street. . ​

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 35-40 years old, 5’8” in height, thin build, short brown hair. ​ He was wearing a grey ball cap with a blue emblem, blue medical mask, clear medical gloves, black long sleeved hoodie, black pants and ​ black sneakers with white soles. ​

Multiple police units attended the scene and actively looked for the suspect. A K-9 officer attended the scene with the police service dog and followed the suspect’s track behind 6092 Quinpool Road where the track was lost, it is believed the suspect got into a vehicle at this location and fled the area.

The investigation will be assigned to the Integrated General Investigative Section. ​
