Update: St. Margarets Bay Road reopened
Police have reopened St. Margarets Bay Road and its entrance into the Armdale Roundabout.
There will continue to be a police presence in the area of Aldrerwood Drive and Birchwood Drive, off of St. Margarets Bay Road, while officers investigate the shooting that occurred in the area this morning

Note: St. Margarets Bay Road from Fenerty Road to the Armdale Roundabout remains closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. All other entrances into the Armdale Roundabout are open.

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred this morning in Halifax.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 200-300 block of St Margarets Bay Road. The man was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are asking the public to remain out of the area to allow officers to conduct the investigation.
The investigation is in the early stages. At this time, investigators believe this was not a random incident and there is not a broad threat to the general public.
