Weekly Traffic Advisories (Sept 25)

Note:  Each week the local listings are expanded and updated.  During the week new and updated tasks are added.  Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bedford Bypass

A repaving and guardrail project is taking place on the Bedford Bypass westbound lanes, from the exit to Dartmouth Road to the overpass near the intersection of Highway 101.

Repairs will also be carried out to the structures over Memory Lane, Rocky Lake Drive and Highway 102 from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should expect delays.

A detour will be in place for traffic bound for Highway 101.

Traffic will be rerouted to Cobequid Road, Glendale Avenue, Highway 102 and Highway 101.

The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Sept. 30.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer 2021.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall 2021.

Chebucto Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Chebucto Road, between Connolly and Beech streets, from Monday, Oct. 5 to Friday, Oct. 9.​

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway.​

Eisener Boulevard – Road Construction

Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Eisener Boulevard, between Portland Street and Portland Estates Boulevard, on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Brentwood Avenue – Road Closure

Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Brentwood Avenue, between St. Margarets Bay Road and Rosewood Avenue, will be closed on Friday, Oct. 2.

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A marked detour will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.​

Cow Bay & Dyke roads – Road Construction

Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 (Halifax, NS) 

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Cow Bay Road between Caldwell and Dyke roads and on Dyke Road between the Cow Bay road intersections on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Shore Drive Pedestrian Trail – Temporary Trail Closure

Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that the Shore Drive pedestrian trail in Bedford, between the trail from Shore Drive to the bridge near Waterfront Drive, will be closed from Tuesday, Sept. 29 until Thursday, Oct. 1.

Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day to facilitate the installation of underground services for the new development of Bedford Bay Estates. Residents are asked to avoid this area while work is underway.

Woodlawn Road – Traffic Delay

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Woodlawn Road, between Mount Edward Road and Portland Street, on Sunday, Sept. 27.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Crichton Avenue – Traffic Delay

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Crichton Avenue, between Ochterloney Street and Crichton Park Road, on Saturday, Sept. 26.​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​

Crews will be on site from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Robie Street – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Robie Street, between Willow and Cunard streets, on Sunday, Sept. 27.​ This work will require the signals to be shut down at the intersections of North and Robie streets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and of Cunard and Robie streets from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site while the signals are shut down.

Dahlia Street – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Dahlia Street, between Victoria Road and Crichton Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Victoria Road – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Victoria Road, between Portland and Thistle streets on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Robie Street – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Robie Street, between Almon and Willow streets, on Saturday, Sept. 26.​ This work will require the signals to be shut down at the intersections of Almon and Robie streets from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and of North and Robie streets from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site while the signals are shut down

Hammonds Plains Road – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Hammonds Plains Road, between Rockcliffe Crescent and Westwood Boulevard on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Eisener Boulevard – Road Construction

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Eisener Boulevard, between Portland Street and Portland Estates Boulevard, on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Johnson Road – Road Construction

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 (Halifax, NS)

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Johnson Road, between North Preston Road and the end of Johnson Road, on Monday, Sept. 28.

Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to provide at least two metres of physical distancing.
