There is no longer a need for residents to seek shelter or stay inside.

The emergency alert is now cancelled. There is no longer a need for the public to seek shelter or stay inside. The highway and roads are now open.
We’d like to thank the public for their cooperation as officers worked toward a peaceful resolution. Officers remain on scene to continue with the investigation.

Suspect last seen at a residence on Humes Rear Rd.

DANGEROUS PERSON with firearm inside residence. RCMP responding.
Instructions
Do not provide a ride to anyone asking for one.
Do not pick up hitch hikers.
Do not disclose police locations.
Call 9-1-1 to report emergencies or tips.

Dangerous person alert in Wagmatcook
The following has been posted on RCMPNS social media accounts:
CMP officers are on Humes Rear Rd. in Wagmatcook responding to a situation involving an armed person who has barricaded himself inside a residence. There’s a heavy police presence in the area. Please avoid to allow investigators to do their work.

The public is asked to please avoid the area to allow officers to do their work. Currently several roads are closed. Please follow directions from officers on scene about closures on Humes Rear East Loop and Hwy. 105 between the north and south entrance to Humes Rear East Loop and Jo Gun Rd. This incident continues to be contained to a residence and officers on scene are working towards a peaceful resolution.
