Police investigate suspicious death
Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Halifax last night.
At approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to an injured person that was found lying on the roadway near Gottingen Street and Bloomfield Street. EHS arrived and rendered first aid to a 40-year-old woman and then transported her to the hospital where she later died of her injuries.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is conducting an autopsy to determine cause of death.
The investigation is in the early stages and more information will be provided when it becomes available.
Police extend sincere condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones.
