Police continue to investigate the murder of Shane Darrell Siddle
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the murder of Shane Darrell Siddle and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.
On December 12, 1994, police received a report that a patient at the Victoria General Hospital, Shane Siddle, had been admitted on December 7 with a serious head injury. On December 13, Shane passed away as a result of his injuries. Investigators believe that on the night of December 7, Shane was assaulted near his residence on Belle Aire Terrace in Halifax and the assault was not reported to police.
Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Shane’s case. We hope that the passage of time will encourage someone to do the right thing and come forward with what they know about Shane’s murder. It is never too late to do the right thing and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.
Shane’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Callers must contact the Rewards Program at 1-888-710-9090, must provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided.

Kings District RCMP charges man with Breaking and Entering with Intent
Kings District RCMP has charged a man with breaking and entering with intent and trespassing at night after receiving a report of a break and enter into a home on Windsor St. in Kingston.
On December 6, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report that a man had entered a home where a woman had been sleeping and asked her if she was alone. Upon waking and seeing the man, whom she didn’t know, the woman fled. She was not physically injured in the incident.
Responding officers arrested a man a short time later near the residence.
Kings District RCMP has charged Patrick Celestine Hyslop, 44, of Kingston with Breaking and Entering with Intent, Trespass at Night, Failure to Comply with Probation Order (two counts) and Failure to Comply with Release Order (two counts).
Hyslop was remanded into custody pending his next appearance in Kentville Provincial Court on December 18 for a bail hearing.

UPDATE: Man wanted on province-wide arrest warrant has been arrested
Jessie James Miles, 31, from Prospect Bay, who was wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant was located and safely arrested yesterday.
