Police request public assistance in assault investigation

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred in downtown Halifax.

On June 23 at approximately 1:50 a.m. officers responded to a report of two people injured in the 1600 block of Argyle Street. Officers located two people who had been assaulted by a group of people who were not known to them.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or using the P3 Tips App.

RCMP seeking information after shots fired into a residence

Meteghan RCMP is seeking information in relation to an investigation of shots fired in Saint Alphonse.

On July 4, at 4:25 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of shots fired into a home in the 7000 block of Hwy. 1.

There were no injuries reported by anyone inside the residence.

The investigation, which is being led by the Meteghan RCMP and assisted by Nova Scotia RCMP Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services, is ongoing. Investigators are interested in speaking with members of the public who may have information that could support this investigation, including anybody with home surveillance cameras or vehicles with dash cam footage from the area.
