In photos – Firefighters from all over and supporting civilians, as well as dispatchers, came together for the LUNGNSPEI Stair Heroes Challenge in Halifax, a 36-flight stair climb to raise funds for a great cause!
Wearing heavy gear, participants from HRFE and beyond challenged themselves to make great times racing to the top of the stairwell course, a rough task to say the least!
They were all recognized by the event organizers for their efforts!
The event also included a head to head gear up challenge, suiting up fully including SCBA, as well as pre-contest stretching and speeches.
Volunteers from Halifax SAR were on hand to assist as the many climbers rushed to the top of the challenge while event volunteer s tended to their tasks.
Since its inception in 2020, Stair Heroes has emerged as the flagship fundraising event for LungNSPEI, supporting critical lung health programs across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Last year alone, the event raised an astounding $50,000, underscoring its pivotal role in advancing lung health initiatives in the region.
