Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road
Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River
Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025

Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Hornes Road Bridge
Location: Hornes Road Bridge, between Cow Bay Road and Caldwell Road
Date: July 2, 2024 to November 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This closure is to facilitate the rebuilding of the bridge.
Traffic impact: A signed detour will be in place.

Road Closure – Nora Bernard Street
Location: Nora Bernard Street between Brunswick and Barrington streets
Date: Monday, Oct. 28 to Friday, Nov. 8
Time: 24/7
Work details: Crews will be completing the work to connect Nora Bernard Street to the new roundabout in support of the Cogswell District project.
Traffic impact: Nora Bernard Street will be local traffic only. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

Date: Effective Monday, Oct. 28

Work details: To facilitate the new road alignment at the Barrington Street and Upper Water Street intersection, a small section of Barrington Street will be closed in conjunction with the opening of the new roundabout in support of the Cogswell District project. This section of road will remain closed throughout 2025, as the new roads and parks in this area are built in the area.
Traffic impact: This section of Barrington Street will be local traffic only. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

Trail Closure – Beechville Lakeside Timberlea Trail
Location: Beechville Lakeside Timberlea Trail, from Maplewood Drive to Sprucebrook Lane
Date: Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24
Time: 24/7
Work details: This is to facilitate the installation of a sidewalk. The trail will close beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 and reopen at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Residents are advised to adhere to all signage and instructions from workers on site, as there will be heavy equipment operating in the area.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Old Sambro Road and Dunbrack Street
Location: Intersection of Old Sambro Road and Dunbrack Street
Date: Wednesday, October 23
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate a utility installation at 48 Old Sambro Road.
Traffic impact: Traffic signals at the intersection will be turned off while work is underway, with traffic control personnel in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Hollis Street, between Salter and Bishop streets

Work details: This delay is to facilitate replacement of an electric generator.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Route 308, Quinan
Route 308 westerly from Shunacadie Road for about 3.5 kilometres has alternating lane closures for road work until Saturday, November 30.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Kenwood Drive, Sydney River
Kenwood Drive from Oceanview Drive to Kings Road is closed for construction of a roundabout until Saturday, November 9.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
The Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro
The northbound side of the Salmon River Bridge on Highway 102, between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane for bridge work. The northbound right lane will be closed 24 hours a day. The expected completion date is Thursday, October 31.
Traffic control is on-site, and signs are posted.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 366
A section of Route 366 is closed because of a culvert failure. Only local traffic is allowed from East Amherst to Port Howe. A detour is available via Trunk 6.
Work continues until Thursday, October 31.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville
Highway 102 near Exit 4C has regular lane closures and construction in both directions until further notice, for construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 interchange.
Work takes place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the northbound lanes and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the southbound lanes. Traffic control is on-site. Both lanes will be open in the evening and overnight.
Motorists should expect delays and should use alternative routes when possible.
