Police lay attempted murder charges

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to an attempted murder that occurred in Dartmouth earlier this month.

On August 10 at approximately 2:20 p.m., police responded to a physical disturbance at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth. Officers located a man with life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Scott Edward Andrew Myers, 29, appeared in Dartmouth provincial court to face the following charges:

  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon

RCMP arrest man for firearms offence

Eskasoni RCMP Detachment has arrested a man for Pointing a Firearm.

On August 18, at approximately 11:05 a.m., officers responded to a report that a man pointed a firearm at another person during a verbal dispute in Eskasoni. The two people involved are known to each other.

Officers attended and safely arrested the man. Investigators also seized one non-operable replica firearm.

The man arrested was released on conditions and is due in Eskasoni Provincial Court on October 15th, 2024. He will face charges of Pointing a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. His name cannot be shared at this time.
