Meteghan RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Church Point.

On June 8, just after midnight, Meteghan RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Patrice Rd. Officers learned that a dirt bike had collided with a truck exiting a side road.

A bystander provided CPR to the rider of the dirt bike until emergency services arrived. The rider, a 25-year-old man from Belliveau’s Cove, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 17-year-old youth, and the passenger, a 21-year-old male, both from Church Point, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.

The road was closed for several hours as a collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
