Uncrewed Aircraft System (drone) training to occur at Bedford Rifle Range

Residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality, especially those who live or transit regularly in the vicinity of the Bedford Rifle Range, are to be advised that Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS/drone) training will take place on and in the airspace above range property from Monday, June 3 to Friday, May 7, 2024 inclusive. All training will occur between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

This training is being conducted to familiarize Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) personnel with general-purpose UAS that will eventually be deployed aboard RCN vessels.

Members of the public may observe several small (3.5 pound) UAS being operated at 200-300 feet above ground level during this training period. Safety teams and qualified instructors will monitor and control all activities.
