Ryobi Y18GB Airwave 18-Gauge Brad Nailer and Ryobi Y18GBS Airwave 2-in-1 Brad Nailer/Stapler Recalled due to Laceration Hazard

Issue

The work piece contact element can bind in a compressed position allowing the nail to be discharged by activating the trigger alone rather than the intended two step actuation process, posing a potential laceration hazard.

As of May 3, 2024, the company has received 1 reported incident in which a consumer sustained an injury in Canada.

Affected products

This recall involves the RYOBI model Y18GB Airwave 18-Gauge Brad Nailer (the “Nailer”) and the RYOBI model Y18GBS Airwave 2-in-1 Brad Nailer/Stapler (“Nailer/Stapler”) sold in Canada only. The Nailer is 10 inches in height, 11.8 inches in depth and 3.7 inches in width and weighs approximately 6.3 lbs. The Nailer/Stapler is a multi tool and is approximately 9.8 inches in height, 12 inches in depth, and 5.9 inches in width and weighs approximately 8 lbs.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact TTI Consumer Tools, Inc. to facilitate the return of the recalled product and secure a replacement product.
