Dangerous man with firearm alert issued, Bible Hill, Colchester County
[09:04 a.m.] The following alert was issued to Colchester, Cumberland, East Hants and Pictou counties: Dangerous man with firearm. Hillcrest Ave., Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. Suspect on foot. If in the area, seek immediate shelter or shelter-in-place and close and lock doors and windows. Do not leave a secure location. Call 911 to report emergencies or tips.

[08:58 a.m.] Colchester County District RCMP is in the Hillcrest Ave. area of #BibleHill, responding to a report of a man with a firearm. Shelter-in-place. Alert imminent. The streets surrounding Hillcrest Ave. are closed to allow officers to do their work. Please avoid. We’ll provide updates as we have more information.

**** UPDATE via Truro Police
Today at 8:59 a.m., the Truro Police Service was requested by Colchester RCMP to assist in an active situation where a male armed with a rifle was observed in the Bible Hill area.
Truro Police Service members including K9, Patrol, and the Criminal Intelligence Division responded to the immediate area and set up road blocks between Truro and Bible Hill.
At 9:12 a.m., Truro Police Service apprehended the male at the Main Street bridge without incident. The male was handed over to RCMP and placed in their custody as the originating incident occurred in their jurisdiction. At this time, there is no longer a threat to public safety.
