Police charge two men for robbery

 

Police have charged two men in relation to a robbery that occurred in Halifax last week.

 

On August 25 at approximately 2:50 a.m. police received a report that a robbery had occurred at the Irving gas station located at 280 Lacewood Drive. A man entered the store, produced a knife and demanded money. He left the store with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle along with a second suspect.

 

Police located both men a short time later and they were arrested without incident.

 

Andrew Claude Campbell, 34, was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance

 

Christopher Douglas Picco, 29, was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
  • Resist arrest
  • Breach of probation (x4)

 

Picco was also charged in relation to the following robberies:

  • August 2: Circle K store, 173 Herring Cove Road:
    • Robbery
    • Breach of probation (x2)
  • August 23: Needs store, 33 Herring Cove Road:
    • Robbery
    • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
    • Uttering threats
    • Breach of probation (x2)

 

Both men appeared in Halifax Provincial Court last week

Digby RCMP charge two people in robbery

Digby RCMP has charged two people with robbery after an incident on Mount St. in Digby.

On August 28, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Digby RCMP responded to a report of a robbery that had occurred on August 27 on Mount St. in Digby. RCMP officers learned that a 67-year-old man, had been visited by a 31-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman. During the visit, the victim was assaulted and his bank card was stolen. The suspects then left.

RCMP officers located the two suspects within 30 minutes of responding to the report of the robbery and both were safely arrested. They were transported to the Digby RCMP Detachment where they were held in custody overnight. A search warrant was executed on the suspects home and RCMP officers recovered the bank card.

Cody Williams Lohnes, 31, and Crystal Lee Marwick, 45, both of Digby, have been charged with Robbery.

Lohnes is also facing a charge of Assault with a Weapon and Marwick is facing a charge of Breach of Probation.

Both Lohnes and Marwick remain in custody and will appear in Digby Provincial Court today.
