Police charge man for weapons and drug offences

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man with weapons and drug offences in relation to an incident in Halifax last week.

On March 22 at approximately 9 p.m. officers responded to a man with a gun inside a restaurant in the 6900 block of Mumford Road threatening customers and staff.

Officers arrested the man inside the restaurant and seized a replica firearm, ammunition, a collapsible baton and quantities of what are believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine.

A 28-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Carrying a concealed weapon (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (x2)
  • Use of an imitation firearm in an offence
  • Uttering threats to cause death
  • Failing to comply with conditions of a court order

Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit charge two people with drug and weapon offences

Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU) has charged two people with drug and weapon offences after a search warrant at a home in Stellarton.

On March 20, 2024, the PCISCEU, with assistance from the Stellarton Police Service, Westville Police Service, Pictou District RCMP General Investigative Section and RCMP Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a home on St. Bernard St.

At the home, police safely arrested a woman then located and seized methamphetamine, hydromorphone, prescribed medications, baggies, cellular phones, forged documents, unlicensed spirits, firearms and ammunitions.

A short time prior to the search, a man was safely arrested during a targeted traffic stop. Following the arrest, officers located and seized cash, a scale, and a cellular phone.

David Michael Burton Pellerine, 29, from Stellarton and Hannah Loraine Burns-Jobes, 24, from Stellarton have been charged with:

  • Possession Contrary to Order;
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose;
  • Careless Use of Firearm;
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm;
  • Possession for purpose of trafficking.

Both accused were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on June 24, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
