Missing person: Help the RCMP find​ Mary (Molly) Martin​

Update: The 14-year-old youth who was reported missing from Eskasoni on August 13 has been located by police and is safe.

At approximately 11:30 pm last night, the RCMP Air Services reported a fire in an isolated location in the Canoe Lake area. RCMP officers on the ground made their way to this area and at 1 a.m. they located the missing girl and the man she was believed to be with. Both were taken into police custody without incident and transported out of the wooded area. The youth has been released, the man remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Eskasoni RCMP is asking for the​ public’s​ help to locate 14-year-old Mary (Molly) Martin who was last seen yesterday at approximately 4:00 p.m. in Eskasoni.

Martin is described as Indigenous, 5-foot-7 and 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a rose tattoo on her left forearm and may be wearing eyeglasses. No clothing description is available.​ Martin​ may be camping in Cape Breton with an adult male.

When someone goes missing, it has deep and far-reaching impacts for the person and those that know them. We ask that people spread the word through social media respectfully.
